About Me
Kishor Wasan has received numerous awards for his contributions to health sciences, including the Canadian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences Leadership Award for outstanding contributions to Pharmaceutical Sciences in Canada. He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. Kishor Wasan has approximately 240 peer-reviewed articles and 280 abstracts in the field of lipid-based medication delivery and lipoprotein-drug interactions. Dr. Wasan most recently served as the Dean of the University of Saskatchewan's College of Pharmacy and Nutrition from August 2014 to June 2019. Dr. Wasan led the research team at the Wasan lab at the University of British Columbia that produced what has become iCo 019, and will first focus his efforts on the continued development of iCo 019 through partnerships and collaborations.

Kishor Wasan was an assistant dean of research and tenured professor at the University of British Columbia until 2014. Dr. Wasan has substantial engagement in the development of innovative research and teaching programs, and he has published over 520 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts in top publications. Through his 19 years of independent research at UBC, he has exhibited success in guiding research efforts. Wasan received his undergraduate pharmacy studies at the University of Texas in Austin and his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Texas Medical Centre in Houston, Texas. Dr. Kishor Wasan has worked as a pharmacist in both retail and hospital settings and still holds a Texas pharmacist license.
Kishor Wasan is also a Distinguished University Scholar and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research/iCo Therapeutics Inc. Research Chair in Drug Delivery for Neglected Global Diseases, as well as a member of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and the Canadian Society of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He is well-known in the postsecondary industry for his strengths in research and education curriculum development.
